Minor scratches can be treated with toothpaste or a mixture of white vinegar and baking soda. For slightly deeper scratches, it's recommended to use fine sandpaper to buff and then polish. Severe damage requires professional repair.
Depending on the degree of mirror damage, the following layered repair solutions can be adopted:
Minor haze or shallow scratches: Gentle home repair. If the surface only has slight dullness, water stains, or fine, shallow scratches, apply white toothpaste to a clean, soft cloth and gently rub the scratched area in a circular motion, then wipe clean with a damp cloth. The micro-abrasive components in toothpaste can fill in tiny dents and restore local shine.
Alternatively, soaking in white vinegar and wiping with a baking soda paste can remove mineral deposits and oxide films, suitable for cases where the inner pot is generally grayish.
Medium-depth scratches: Local polishing
For scratches visible to the naked eye and perceptible to the finger, use fine sandpaper (1500 grit or higher), dampened with water, to gently and evenly polish along the direction of the scratch, avoiding further damage. After polishing, use stainless steel polishing paste or a dry cloth with cornstarch to restore the metallic luster.
Note: Wear gloves during operation and apply light pressure to prevent damage to the polished layer.
Deep scratches or large-area damage: Seek professional service
