The correct way to use an explosion-proof pressure cooker is as follows: Before use, check the vent and safety valve. The food should not exceed 4/5 of the cooker's capacity. After heating, release the vent and then add the pressure relief valve. After cooking, allow it to cool naturally or force pressure reduction. Open the lid only after confirming there is no pressure.
To ensure safety, please follow these steps:
Pre-use Inspection: Check that the vent pipe on the lid is clear, the safety valve and anti-blocking cover are intact, and the float moves freely and is in the lowered position. Also check that the sealing ring is not aged or has residue. For new cookers, apply a small amount of cooking oil to the pot body for easier opening and closing.
Adding Food: The total amount of food and liquid should not exceed 4/5 of the cooker's capacity. For easily expanding foods (such as beans and porridge), the capacity should not exceed 3/5, and the liquid should not be less than 400 ml to prevent dry burning.
Closing the Lid: Rotate the lid clockwise until the upper and lower handles are fully aligned, ensuring it is locked in place. Before closing the lid, ensure the vent is clear to prevent pressure buildup.
Heating and Pressurizing: After closing the lid, heat over high heat. Once a small amount of steam is steadily escaping from the vent, close the pressure relief valve. The float will then rise, and a hissing sound indicates pressure has been established. At this point, reduce the heat to maintain stable venting until cooking is complete.
Cooling and Releasing: After cooking, allow the pot to cool naturally or force-cool and depressurize by pouring cold water over it. After cooling, gently lift the pressure relief valve to release any remaining gas. Ensure there is no steam in the vent and the float has dropped before opening the lid. If the float has not dropped, do not force the lid open; use chopsticks to gently press the indicator valve to assist in venting.
Safety Precautions:
Avoid cooking foods that easily produce foam, such as beans, porridge, and pork rib and seaweed soup, to prevent clogging the vent.
Do not use wire, cloth strips, or other materials to block the safety valve or vent. When using an electric pressure cooker, set the pressure relief valve to the "Sealed" position to begin cooking. Before opening the lid, switch it to the "Release" position to release the pressure.
Pressure cookers generally have a lifespan of 5–8 years; they should be replaced promptly after this period.
